The Audubon Zoo offers visitors a global safari adventure in such exotic environments as the African Savanna, the Australian Outback, the Asian Domain, and the Louisiana Swamp. Wondrous landscapes help to enhance the up-close encounters with animals from around the world. Easily the most popular permanent exhibit is the Louisiana Swamp Exhibit, where Cypress trees, Spanish moss, white alligators, and other assorted creatures of the swamp, are set in a beautifully accurate recreation of a Bayou landscape. The exhibit couples the natural history of the Louisiana swamps with the cultural history, offering spicy Cajun cuisine and the opportunity to witness an alligator feeding.
