Along the mighty Mississippi sits the newly created 100,000-square-foot Harrah's Casino Hotel New Orleans. A casino of style and history, it's decorated to reflect a well-known aspect of the New Orleans environment - Mardi Gras. Each of the five gaming areas depicts a "Mardi Gras court" flavor. The Mansion Ballroom features large murals on the walls. Oak trees in the casino lend a charming backdrop for the crooning singers. Smugglers Court, a beach scene, features a salty old pirate, Jean Lafitte.
The casino features 2,500 slots and 117 table games and it is accessible from an under ground tunnel from the parking and unloading area. The buffet features local restaurant cuisine, with seats for 400.
The casino is located just a few short steps from the French Quarter. Located at Convention Boulevard and Poydras Street, the facility is situated near the Morial Convention Facility. Harrah's is also across the street from the Aquarium of the Americas and the IMAX theater which are both at the foot of Canal Street.
With partner hotels in the vicinity, there are more than 17,000 rooms available to casino guests.
